Subcision cellulite

Subcision is one of the long lasting and effective cellulite treatment methods. This cellulite treatment procedure was developed in the year 1997 by a dermatologist located in Brazil.

Under this treatment procedure the plastic surgeon inserts a specially designed needle under your skin in order to release the tethering fibrous bands. The cutting tool used under this treatment method is v-shaped and it is moved underneath the patient’s skin in order to cut the bands of the connective tissue are the cause of the dimples.

This procedure is conducted under local anaesthesia but still you are likely to feel the pain and bruising after the operation. Sometimes there are also chances of scarring, infection and contour irregularities. The bruising which occurs as a result of surgery may last up to three to six months depending form case to case. Generally a compression belt is recommended to be worn on the treated area for two to three weeks in order to help in reducing the bruising.

Even though in this cellulite treatment method the result is not 100% predictable and does not work for every one or in all body parts. The subcision cellulite treatment is not so easily available and till now it does not have ample clinical research to its support.
